About Me

Veronika Mason-Dehn

I started taking photographs as a simple way to document my travels. Without realising how much it would fundamentally change the way I would see the world, my perspective quickly evolved to where I started noticing beauty all around me where I hadn’t before. A glimmer of light on a colourful staircase, storm clouds before a heavy rain, early morning sun over a village in winter — I started to notice and preserve what is fleeting. I was very lucky to be able to travel to 12 different counties in the span of 18 months between 2025-26 and experience every day life amongst many different cultures and people. My travels created a deep appreciation for the different forms in which beauty can manifest itself.

Now more than ever, we’re increasingly reaching for things that are tangible, real, and authentic. This is something I’m feeling heavily as both an artist and writer — these feelings continue to push me further towards owning my entire creative process. My goals and personal projects in 2027 include building a home darkroom and learning alternative photography, such as wetplate collodion. I also plan to continue writing long form content for this blog, and explore my new found love of poetry.  I hope that grounding my work in the real world will deepen my connection with it, and inspire the same in others.
